Motor skills, straight lines and hand-eye coordination are topics for today's exercise. We are all fighting with straight and precise lines. Especially if we pick up our tablets afters some longer period of time. But most importantly, our lines need to reach the endpoint first!
I have prepared a small worksheet using Letter Builder brushes (these are paid brushes available for the majority of popular programs, so feel free to check them out, perfect for lettering).
As you can see, these grids have many options so feel free to choose whatever number or letter you want to create. The main point here is not to use any rulers or automatic straight line creation tools from the apps like Procreate etc. Just use your hand and if it's wobbly, well....just do not cheat :), the only person you are cheating on is you and your hand 😂. Remember Wingardium Leviosa?
Extra tips for you:
- Lines should be continuous and unbroken
- Try not to zoom in and out too much
- Priority is in lines reaching their intended points over the accuracy
Every line we draw should consist of a single mark. Beginners, due to their heavy reliance on drawing from their wrist, tend to make very short marks. Accuracy will improve but getting the right habit at the beginning is priceless.
Again below is the link to Dropbox, you can find procreate, .jpg, .pdf and .psd versions which you can freely use either in your favourite software or just simply print out.
Once you are done, don't be shy and share it with us below in the comments that we can see all the different ideas and approaches. I will share mine as well :)
