Who are the most creative people in the world? Children. Let's take them as an example.

Sometimes you just need to take a step back and allow your inner child to climb to the surface in that moment of creativity.  It gives you the chance to express yourself in a way that is all yours.  Children are all about being in the moment: the sound of a brush against the paper, the way it feels to rub paint on the surface, the look of glitter as it is sprinkled.  You might not realize it, but these moments can have a more profound impact on yourself than you might think.

Recently I saw on Facebook a challenge with a picture of a half heart saying: "Complete this drawing. The only rule is it can't be a heart."

I do not know who came up with this idea and maybe it's an old thing but I wasn't aware of it so, immediately this challenge caught my attention and I was like whoa, that's really good for creativity exercise. So I have created a working sheet with three different very known geometrical objects

  • Triangle
  • Cog
  • Star

The funny thing is, we are so used to these shapes, that our brain immediately fills these as objects and that's it. No space for imagination and creativity right? But children, nay nay, for them it wouldn't be just an object. They can always create something new very easily.

So today's exercise is pretty clear.

  • Download the working sheet from Dropbox (you can find the link below) and open it in your favourite software
  • Complete the shapes without being them "the shapes"
  • Try to really think about something cool and meaningful
